One of my neighbours used to keep gold bullion at home
My neighbours name is Pete. Hes a lonely man, he doesnt have anyone to talk to, so I visit him sometimes just to listen to him. One night, when we were sitting in his living room, I noticed some gold bullion in his cabinet. He opened it for just a minute to take a bottle of whisky out of it. I immediately started to wonder where he got this gold from. Pete is a very poor man, he works part-time in a shopping centre and doesnt earn much. I am a confident person and often ask questions other people would never dare to ask, so that night I started asking him about the gold bullion. I think he might have felt like being interrogated. He seemed angry and I thought it was high time for me to go home. That night, I told my wife everything, and she advised me not to pry into other peoples lives. But I dont think its prying. Im only a curious person, thats it. Every time I met Pete I tried to mention the topic of gold in one way or another, but he seemed reluctant to talk about it. Well, I decided not to pressurise him. Last night, I met Pete again. He said he decided to sell the bullion. He actually gave all the money he was paid for it to a foundation that helps poor children. Well, I dont know if thats true, but if I were him, I would save at least half of the money for myself, I suppose.
